NT+ApacheでCGIが実行されません

過去の事例から該当するものを探せなかったので、質問させていた
だきます。
WinNT4.0WS+Apache1.3.9でfortranで書いたCGIを動かそうとして
います。
CGIプログラムはユーザーが入力した数値をもとにある種の計算を
行い、結果を返すだけのものです。
html文では、CGI(hoge.exe)を以下のように指定しています。

<form action="../cgi-bin/hoge.exe" method="POST">

<input type="submit" value=" 了 解 ">
略
クライアント側のブラウザで数値を入力後、了解をクリックすると、
プログラムは実行されずに、プログラムファイルのダウンロードの
ウインドが開いてしまいます。
httpd.confでは、
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "d:/Apache Group/Apache/cgi-bin/"
AddHandler cgi-script .exe
.htaccessでは
AddType application/x-httpd-cgi .exe
などと指定していますが、どこに原因があるのでしょうか?
ご教授をよろしくお願いいたします。

少なくとも UNIX 版の apache では、AddHandler と
AddType を両方指定してはいけません。AddHandler だけでいいでしょう。
これでもうまくいかなかったら、apache のログを見て下さい。

.htaccessからエントリを削除してみましたが×です。
逆にhttpd.confでAddHandlerをコメントアウトしても×。
error.logには特に何も出ていません。
access.logでは、
xxx.xxx.xxx.xx - - [15/Dec/1999:14:29:02 +0900] "POST /cgi-bin/hoge.exe HTTP/1.0" 200 285
となっていますが・・・
ユーザーに入力させる数値をプログラム内に記述して
http://localhost/cgi-bin/hoge.exe
とやるとうまくいきます。

ラッパープログラムから起動すれば可能です。
つまり目的のプログラムを CGI から起動させればいいです。
ただしアクセス権は慎重にしたほうが幸せになれます。

早トチリしまた。ゴメンナサイ
でも上の system を exec に変えたらいけそうな気がするのだけど
(自信無し)
exe 形式の CGI を作れる環境が無いので検証できません。

色々とありがとうございます。
ActivePerlをインストールして、サンプルのcgiがきちんと表示され
る事は確認しました。
しかし、\n さんの wrapper.cgi はソースのまま表示されてしまい
ます。perlの場所は、
#!d:/usr/perl/bin/perl
の様に指定しているのですが・・・

そちらで動作したとの事ですから、

で、CやFortranのCGIを動作させられる事はわかりました。
ありがとうございます。
でも、上記を当方の環境で実行すると、適当に値をセットしてsubmit後
に、やはりダウンロードが始まってしまいます。 IEでも、NCでも
同じです。
結局、Apache側の設定に問題があるようですね・・・。
宜しかったら、そちらのhttpd.confや、.htaccessの関係ありそうな
部分を教えていただけませんでしょうか?

そうですか。httpd.conf の内容は長文になるので、このラウンジにup
すべきか迷ったのですが、載せたほうが早かったですね。
ということで載せます。
※なお先の検証では、cgi-bin/test.exe を実行したのは、
UserDir の設定ディレクトリ下のcgi-binの元でした。ということで
サーバrootディレクトリの下の/cgi-bin/test.exe で試して、これも
OKでした。

すみません。追伸です。
.htaccess ファイルは使っていません。
それと、これも今回の件とは関係ないと思いますが、私のマシンには
"CygWin" というUNIX command for Win なものが入っています。

アップして頂いたhttpd.confから、当方のインストール環境に関する
部分のみを修正し、再度実行してみましたが、やはりダウンロードに
なってしまいます。
バーチャルヒューマンさんのApacheはバイナリ版の1.3.9ですか?
どこで見たか失念してしまいましたが、1.3.9ではexeが直接実行でき
ない(winバイナリ配布版;ソースを修正すればOKだそうですが)
ので、1.3.6で動かしている様な事が書いてありました。
最初はそれかとも思ったのですが・・・
とりあえず動いているhttpd.confは教えていただいた訳ですから、
後はApacheのバージョンを変えるなど、色々と試してみます。
結果は、またご報告いたします。

私は、過去に、Apache1.3.6 for Win32のバイナリを使っていました。
で、1.3.9への移行では、UnInstallしないで、上書きで、1.3.9を
Installしたように思います。(記憶薄ですが...)

でOKだと、サーバではなく、ブラウザ-の設定かもしれません。
ちなみに、私は、NN4.6を使ってTESTしました。IEではやってません。

その結果が何であるか確認してみると何かわかるかもしれませんよ。

ございます。
ブラウザのご指摘があったので、IE5.01がインストールされている
マシンからテストしたところ、上記の(バーチャルヒューマンさんの)
Cプログラムはあっさり実行できました。
また、fortranプログラムも値の受け渡しがうまく行かないのですが、
それ以外の部分は正しく動いています。
NC4.7でもCはOKでした。(但し、fortranは×。???)
これまではIE4.0でテストしていたんですが、ブラウザのバージョンを
上げると動作するようになるとは思ってもみませんでした。
(NCでCプログラムのチェックはしていませんでした)
とりあえずはこれで解決としたいと思います。
